Surrender Field - On this field, the Americans and French accepted the official surrender of the British troops at Yorktown, Virginia. The British had to lay down their arms and regimental flags. At this location are several of the original cannon that the British surrendered to General Washington's men. They have been marked signaling that they were surrendered by General Cornwallis' troops. This quote was in from a correspondence from General Cornwallis to King George III after he surrendered to General Washington.
