Petersburg - Blandford Church.....General Mahone was stationed at this church with his troops, when the Union Army detonated the mine under Elliot's salient, starting what would become known as "The Battle of the Crater". General Mahone and his men left this church and charged over to what was left of the salient and won back the land for the Confederate Army.
