Carrier Air Wing One ( CVW-8 ) Homecoming at NAS Oceana

On November 15, 2014 I once again had the amazing opportunity to be at NAS Oceana to record the homecoming of a Carrier Air Wing, this time Carrier Air Wing 8 (CVW-8).  CVW-8 deployed for 9 months on the U.S.S. George H.W. Bush. During the deployment they completed 12,774 sorties for a total of 34,831 flight hours. Of the sorties, 3,245 were combat sorties with 18,333 combat flight hours. The aircraft made 10,003 catapult launches and arrested landings.

I wanted to thank Kelley Stirling, Mike Maus and the family members and aviators of VFA-213 'Black Lions', VFA-31 'Tomcaters', VFA-15 'Valions' & VFA-87 'Golden Warriors' for permitting me to be a part of this amazing event, it is something I will never forget.
