On November 16, 2014 the U.S.S. George H.W. Bush returned home from a sucessful nine month deployment.

During this 9 month deployment, her aircraft supported Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Inhererent Resolve in Iraq and Syria. Operation Inherent Resolve included the first strike operations against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.
