My
flight with the 77th Air Refueling Squadron "The Totin'
Tigers"
Photographer: Mike Lynaugh - May 14, 2015
On
May 14, 2015 I was once again invited to take part in an amazing opportunity to take
photographs during an air to air refueling training mission. I was invited to
go flying on a KC-135R Stratotanker with the 77th Air Refueling
Squadron "The Totin' Tigers" and we would meet up with some
F-22 Raptors from the 94th Fighter Squadron, A-10 Warthogs from the 75th Fighter Squadron, and a B-1 Lancer bomber from the 28th Bomb Squadron.
The
77th Air Refueling Squadron is part of the 916th Air Refueling Wing
based out of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North
Carolina. We departed out of Seymour Johnson AFB as tanker support for a training operation "Operation Talon's Spear" which was ongoing over the Atlantic Ocean.
I wanted to thank SSgt Broadway, Jim Froneberger, TSgt Sena Alfaro and the rest of the crew of our
KC-135R tanker, and everyone involved in helping to make this flight a
reality and for permitting me to be a part of this amazing event, it
is something I will never forget. |
