Gordon Robertson works on a wood sculpture in his backyard. While clearing trees after Hurricane Isabel, Gordon found a piece of wood that reminded him of a hand which inspired him to start carving wood sculptures and masks. Fast forward a few years and now he has completed a whole portfolio of works completely from found wood, so you might call him a “green” artist. Next weekend he’ll bring his work to his first Arts in the Park at Byrd Park in Richmond. © Mike Lynaugh
